Animal Rescue Foundation Announces the 2024 5K Run & Walk with the Dogs Event
Beacon, NY – Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) proudly presents the ninth annual “5K Run & Walk with the Dogs” on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Memorial Park in Beacon, NY.
This exciting event aims to raise crucial funds to support ARF’s mission of providing haven and care for homeless cats and dogs until they’re adopted. Since 1986, the volunteer-run, non-profit, no-kill shelter has rescued, rehabilitated, sheltered, and found loving homes for thousands of cats and dogs, including 67 cats and 53 dogs in 2023.
The “5K Run & Walk with the Dogs” promises a day filled with joy and camaraderie, bringing together families, fitness enthusiasts, and their furry companions for a memorable morning. For the first time, the event introduces a Kids 1K Fun Run, open to kids ages three to ten, and a Best Dog Costume Contest, offering something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
Participants can expect a chipped race, commemorative event shirts (for those registered by April 30), and a special prize for all participating dogs. Medals will be awarded to top finishers in both the 5K and 1K races.
Early Bird registration is available until March 31, with discounted rates for both the all-ages 5K and Kids 1K Fun Run. Standard pricing will apply from April 1 to May 18, with race-day registration also available on May 19. Strollers are welcome and children under three participate for free.

Beyond the races, attendees and the public can look forward to a variety of activities, including local vendor showcases, raffles, face painting, music by DJ Vybe, and more, ensuring a day of fun for all ages.

Since Barbara Shea founded the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 1986, ARF has rescued, rehabilitated, and found adoptive homes for thousands of cats and dogs.
